A small chain, run by hand
Haven is a small group of 4 boutique houses across the coast and the old town, run by one team of hosts, kitchen staff, and housekeepers. Each house keeps its own hours, its own menu, and its own way of doing things.
The houses
4 houses, 116 rooms
The four houses are a converted granary on the harbour wall, a Georgian townhouse on the south bank, a former bookbindery on a quiet city lane, and a cliffside villa above a small cove. Rooms start at USD 210 a night. Each house was opened between 2017 and 2021, and each has been refurbished since.

How we work
One team across four addresses
The team is shared across the houses. The kitchen at the harbour sends bread to the river each morning; the spa at Rivermere takes guests from Lisford on a Thursday; the cellar at Lisford pours for the cliff villa on a Saturday. Hosts rotate, so a guest who returns to a different house will often meet a familiar face.
Sourcing is local where it can be. Fish comes from the harbour boats, vegetables from the market garden two miles up the river, and wine from a short list of low-intervention growers we have worked with for years. The bread is baked in each house overnight.
Hospitality at this scale is a matter of small decisions: the time the coffee room opens, the chair by the window, the lamp left on at the end of the corridor. Each house makes those decisions for itself, and the team writes them down in the house book so the next shift knows.
Sustainability
Long answers, not short claims
We do not run a marketing programme of certifications. The houses are heated by ground-source and air-source heat pumps, the kitchens compost to the market garden, and the linen is washed at low temperature with a closed-loop detergent.
